He was born at Sainte Adresse in the Seine Maritime in 1953.

At an early age, he was already interested in graphic arts . As a teenager he tried his hand at self-taught paintings of the sea-side and its neighbourhood.

Aged 10, he occasionally visited the workshop of Jef Friboulet in Fécamp, and began painting in oils . Then, in the seventies, he produced hyper-realistic paintings, using the medium of acrylics.

For a time, he distanced himself from painting to follow a career in international hockey, and studied pharmacy at Rouen University from 1972 to 1978.
In 1985, having obtained a diploma as Doctor of Pharmacy, he opened a chemists in the centre of Rouen.

His love of painting had not left him, and he spent more and more of his free time producing oils and water colours .
In 1992, he held his first exhibition of oils in his mother’s antique shop at Vattetot-sous-Beaumont in Normandy .

For the next five years he spent his time between his dispensary and different exhibitions, and in 1997, he decided to devote himself to painting .

With his wife Emmanuelle full agreement, he sold his shop, ignored the sarcastic commentaries of some of his friends, and began a new career as a painter .
Since then, he has been painting on a variety of themes, and with growing enthusiasm.
